I’ve tried several security softwares before, paid version and free version such as zoneAlarm, avast, avg, panda, norton, mcafee and so on. Some products are really great and i’m using it until now. I STRONGLY recommend these programs below because i’m very satisfy with their works and the programs’ qualities.
ZoneAlarm firewall
ZoneAlarm is designed to protect your DSL- or cable-connected PC from hackers. This program includes four interlocking security services: a firewall, an application control, an Internet lock, and Zones. The firewall controls the door to your computer and allows only traffic you understand and initiate. The Internet lock blocks Internet traffic while your computer is unattended or while you’re not using the Internet, and it can be activated automatically with your computer’s screensaver or after a set period of inactivity. Zones monitor all activity on your computer and alert you when a new application attempts to access the Internet. Version 7.0.362 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

In my opinion, ZoneAlarm firewall for windows XP is the best free firewall. ZoneAlarm is a must-have for any home user who doesn’t want to buy expensive (and sometimes ineffective) commercial software. It’s very easy to use and I don’t see that it uses much in the way of system resources. Possible intrusion alerts are well presented. It has prevented hundreds of intrusions since I started using it. ZoneAlarm firewall blocks every attempt to access your computer over the internet, whether inbound or out. ZoneAlarm is an excellent firewall choice for just about any average user.

AVG Anti-virus free edition

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition is the best free anti-virus program out there. It comes with daily free updates, automatic scans, e-mail scanner and even real-time protection that alerts you when something is infected. It has kept my computer free from viruses, is regularly updated, and does not intrude on my other uses of the computer. An excellent anti-virus from Grisoft.

I highly recommend this free cleaning tool. Its easy to use and user friendly. CCleaner is much faster than any other programs. It does work at cleaning unwanted files. It knows what to and to not clean. If unsure about deleting anything, this has a back up option for you to save items to be deleted.
